Hello everyone!

Author sign-ups for DCU Bang are now closed! Fanworker signups are still open, until July 18th, so if you want to sign up as a fanworker, feel free to do so at any time! Authors and fanworkers can still team up into tandem groups, so if you’re a fanworker and have found a signed up author to work with, or you’re a signed up author and have found a fanworker, just let me know you’d like to switch to the Tandem Path!

DCU Bang 2020 Fanworker Sign-Ups

We’ve had a combined 103 sign-ups, across fanworker, 5k, and 10k sign-ups! This is absolutely amazing, especially with the pandemic affecting all of us right now. This Bang can’t run without you guys participating and being supportive of one another, and I am so happy to be working with you all. =D

All signup confirmation emails have been sent out by dcubang@gmail.com at this time. If you do not have this email, contact me at dcubang@gmail.com ASAP. It is very important that I have a reliable way to contact all participants!

June 1st will be the first check-in for authors, which is not mandatory. At the first check-in, I will also be relaying some more information about what is expected for rough drafts, for people choosing the Traditional Path, and want their stories claimed by fanworkers. This way, everyone still has a good amount of time to prepare what will be expected!

Hello everyone! Today is the last day for amnesty! I will be checking the collection periodically throughout the day to approve works, and will allow works to be added to the DCU Bang 2019 Ao3 Collection until tomorrow, to give everyone ample time to finish their stories! If you need additional help, please reach out to me, ASAP! I'm more than happy to help and work something out with you!

The Amnesty Period will end Sunday, November 10th, and the DCU Bang shall be officially closed November 11th. This is when the masterlists will go up and a feedback survey will be provided.

If you're working with an artist, make sure to coordinate a good posting date with them!

When your work is complete, submit it to the DCU Bang 2019 Ao3 Collection. This can be done by either going to the collection and clicking "Post to Collection", or by posting a work regularly and making sure that "dcu_bang_2019" (without the quotes) is in the "Post to Collections / Challenges" box, under "Associations". Do not submit an incomplete work! I will be revealing whatever works are in the queue daily, if you are not ready to post, do not submit yet! Works will be revealed no earlier than 5PM MDT, daily.

I cannot approve or reveal a work that is in draft form If you have a longer work with several chapters and want to take a few days to post it, unrevealed, this is fine, just save it as a draft, and then when you're ready, click post and I will reveal it that day!

Ao3 Bugs/Glitches: When posting chapters, there have been quite a few bugs the last few weeks causing some confusion and frustration. Some things to watch out for are chapters posting as their own individual story and chapters getting stuck as a draft and not posting fully. I'll do my best to watch out for these and inform authors before I reveal the work! If you get an email from me about this, don't be alarmed, I'm just reaching out to let you know there was some sort of error, so that you can fix it.

Remember: If you're a Tandem or Traditional artist or author and you do not submit your work before November 3rd, you're at risk of being banned. If you need help, please get in contact with me! If something major has come up, such as injury, illness, broken computer, family situation has changed, etc. that will prevent you from posting, please just let me know! I'm always willing to work things out with people that contact me.

Solo authors are still able to drop out at any time with no consequences, just let me know so I can update my records!

Stories will be revealed daily, at about 5PM Mountain Time. Here is a time converter for you! On the "Converted Time" clock, select "Change your Location" and input your own information to see what time that is for you, daily. (The date, November 3rd is irrelevant.)
What time is that for me?

Days I am away: I will be at a con October 18-20, so the reveals might be several hours late. I will try my best to get stories revealed at about 5PM as planned, but it could be much later, such as 10PM, or even later.

If you still haven’t claimed a date, please make sure to do so right here: Reveals Date Claiming Form. If you need to use the amnesty period, this is no problem, just select a date between October 27th and November 2, so that I can mark you down on my end!

I also want to remind everyone that if you need to drop out, please just let me know! If you are Tandem or Solo, there are no consequences for dropping out, if you are Traditional, however, there can be consequences. Please reach out to me if you need help, I'm very willing to work with people that contact me!

Hello everyone! Date claiming is now open! This will be working different from past years, so please make sure to read everything before filling out the claiming form. If you have any other questions, please contact me ASAP!

If your author or artist partner is not responding to you, please contact LuciferxDamien in private immediately, either via Discord or by emailing dcubang@gmail.com.

This year, there will not be any limits on how many stories can be posted on a single day. Just choose the date(s) that works best for you and your team, if you are working with an artist/co-author. Some days may have multiple stories and other days may have none, this is fine and to be expected! Make sure you coordinate with your artist(s) and/or author(s) if you are working in a Tandem team or Traditional team to pick a date (or dates if you are posting more than one story) that will work for your whole group.

The due date for all works is October 1st through October 5th, when the DCU Bang 2019 Ao3 Collection will open. Works posted during this timeframe will be hidden and revealed on the date that is selected on September 14th. (The reveals date claiming form will stay open until October 1st.) If you do not post to the collection by the 5th of October, the mods will send out a reminder. If you cannot post by the 5th, but still wish to finish the Bang, the Amnesty Posting Period is from October 27th-November 2nd.

Works are set to reveal at about 5PM MDT daily. It may be later some days, but works will not reveal before 5PM MDT daily.

If your work is not in the collection by October 5th, you will need to wait until the Amnesty Posting Period. Any participant that has not posted by November 2nd will be considered as dropped out or incomplete. Depending on the circumstances, this can lead to a 1 round ban, meaning you will not be able to participate in DCU Bang 2020. Bans will be issued on a case-by-case basis.

If you do not have an Ao3 already, please get in queue ASAP for an Ao3 account and start familiarizing yourself with the site! I’ve got some invites, but I only want to hand those out closer to posting time. It can sometimes take more than 2 weeks to get an invitation, so the sooner you get in queue, the better!

Full posting guidelines will be posted before works are due. Here is some important information for posting before the full guidelines come out beneath the cut:
