The third round of claims is now closed and all match-up emails from all three rounds have been sent out. If you have not received your match-up email(s) yet, please contact me ASAP so that authors and fanworkers can get to work!

Authors that originally signed up as Traditional Author or Undecided Author and have not yet contacted me or did not send in a rough draft have been automatically switched to Solo Author. If you need to drop out or have questions, please send me an email or contact me on Discord!

August 1st is the next check-in, and it is non-mandatory for both authors and fanworkers. August 1st is also the last day of the Grace Period.

Grace Period
This is a chance for Traditional Path artists/fanworkers to get in contact with their authors and vice versa. This is a very important time for both artists and authors to consider if they can finish by November 30th, and if either party determines they cannot finish on time, they have a chance to drop out without consequences, and will be welcomed back for DCU Bang 2021.

Once it is August 2nd, Traditional Path artists and authors cannot drop out without consequences. However, if a major life event happens after this, just get in contact with me, I don't want to punish anyone that has a major life event! This has been a very crazy and unpredictable year, and I will work with anyone that gets in contact with me and lets me know something has happened. I will not punish anyone that gets in contact with me, but I can’t help if I don’t know there is a problem!

If you have any questions, concerns, here is the Page-A-Mod Post You can also contact the mods via, dcubang@gmail.com, or by sending a PM on DreamWidth/LiveJournal to [personal profile] luciferxdamien, or sending a DM on Discord to LuciferxDamien.

Twitter and Tumblr are NOT the quickest way to get in touch with me, as those accounts are not checked as frequently. If your matter is urgent, Discord or email are the quickest way to receive a response!

Hello! Based on feedback, I’ve decided to open a third round of claims! For the third round, artists/fanworkers are free to claim as many stories as they are reasonably sure they can finish!

The third round of claims is optional. Don’t want to claim another story, or don’t feel like you’ll be able to create something for multiple stories? You don’t need to claim! I would much rather you focus on creating something awesome for one story, rather than being stressed out trying to create something for multiple stories. Know your limits and don’t overburden yourself!

Each story can be claimed an additional two times. That means there is a potential total of 3 artists per story, and a minimum of 1 artist per story. While unlikely, it would be pretty hectic and stressful for an author to have to coordinate with 16 artists on their story! That’s why there is a limit, and to encourage people to spread the art around to other stories. =D

Stories are guaranteed only one artist each. I cannot guarantee that every single story will get a second artist. Please be understanding of this!

The third round of claims will close Sunday, July 19th 23:59 MDT, when all fanworker sign-ups will be closed. (This is a slight extension compared to the schedule.)

How to Make Multiple Claims:

  • Stories are claimed on a first come, first served basis.

  • Fill out this Google Form right here

  • A matching email will go out to both the artist and the author containing each other’s contact information after a claim is successful. You should receive this email no later than 72 hours after I have confirmed the claim. If you don't get this match up email, please get in contact with me ASAP so that artists and authors can get to work quickly!

Every story listed here is not guaranteed a second or third artist/fanworker! I can only guarantee one artist/fanworker per story.

All stories have been claimed and the second round of claiming is now closed! Thank you so much to everyone that took a story, and an extra big thank you to those of you that took more than one story! I appreciate it so much and could not run this Bang without all of you. <3 Matching emails will be sent out shortly.

August 1st is the next check-in, and it is non-mandatory for both authors and fanworkers. August 1st is also the last day of the Grace Period.

Hello! Second claims are now open and artists are free to claim as many stories as they are reasonably sure they can finish!

Second claims will close when all stories have been claimed.

    How to Make Multiple Claims:

  • Stories are claimed on a first come, first served basis, in most cases. If you can list several stories you’d be happy to work with, but only want one of those stories, I will do my best to match you with your first or second choice!

Hello everyone! Claims are now open!!! Make sure to read over any summaries you were interested in, as there may have been minor updates!!!

If you want to create some kind of fanwork for one of these awesome stories, the summaries and instructions are right here:

Claiming Instructions | Story Summaries! | Claiming Form

For the first round of claiming, artists/fanworkers will be assigned only one story out of their 3-5 choices! Once second claims open, artists/fanworkers can claim as many stories as they want, however, please do not take on more than you are reasonably certain you can finish to avoid leaving any authors or stories hanging! Further instructions on second claims will be provided Monday.

If you're an artist/fanworker that needs to drop out right now, for any reason, please let me know right away and I will get that taken care of for you! There are no consequences for dropping out before a story is claimed!

Hello everyone! There are some really great stories up for claiming this year! =D The deadline has passed and no more rough drafts will be accepted, so here are the summary previews! The actual story claiming will begin on Saturday, July 11th at 12 Noon MDT. Everyone is welcome to spread the word and share this post, it’s a huge help!

Countdown Timer to Claims Opening | Timezone Converter | Claiming Form Now Open

Authors, please look this post over to make sure your summary and information is correct! If anything is missing or wrong, please message or email me ASAP, so I can get it fixed right away!!! If you are on the DCU Bang Discord server, that is also an excellent way to get in contact with me quickly. If you sent in your rough draft and do not see your summary here, please contact me so we can see what happened!

You will notice that all usernames have been removed. That is because this is a blind claiming. Please do not tell your fanworker/artist friends who are participating which story number is yours. If your friends know the premise of your story and claim it, that's fine, but I don't want hurt feelings due to a story being claimed by someone else. (If there is a particular person you want to work with, consider switching to Tandem with them before claims open to avoid being disappointed. Contact me ASAP so I can get that taken care of for you! There is also Tandem sign-up that is available at the beginning of the Bang, should you join again next year!)

Every story listed here is guaranteed at least one piece of art. In the event of a pinch hit artist being needed, I and [personal profile] 2bnallegory will take care of it. However, if you are a fanworker/artist that would be willing to take a last minute pinch and can create art fairly quickly (you would most likely only have a few days to finish the art piece, please keep this in mind), send me an email and I will keep you in mind!

Art and fanworks come in many different forms! Traditional art, digital art, manips, vids, and fanmixes (with cover art) are all accepted. After matching is done, talk with your artist and see what their skills are! Please check the FAQs for the quality of work that is expected for DCU Bang.

Fanworkers/artists, you must create at least one piece of art per story you claim. You are free and welcome to do more than one piece of art per story you claim, of course! Just make sure that you can finish art for all of the stories you claim, in the event you claim more than one story.

For the first round of claims, each fanworker/artist will be assigned one story from their 3-5 choices. When second claims open up on Monday at around 3PM MDT, the amount of stories fanworkers/artists can claim is unlimited, however, do not claim more than you are sure you can finish!

I’ve been a little under the weather the last few days, which is why this is very late. Claims are now closed!

Please remember to check-in! There are still a lot of participants that haven’t checked in yet. This check-in is mandatory for everyone, including solo authors and tandem artists. If you are a tandem artist, you also need to check-in. If your author doesn’t have a title for their story yet, that’s fine, just put “tandem - (author’s username)” so that I can mark you as checked in! Missing two check-ins in a row will cause you to be dropped from the Bang, so make sure to get checked in ASAP!

Second claims will be open until Monday, 6PM MDT! Due to being busier than expected this weekend, I won't have time to close things. All stories are still open for claims, if there is one that is appealing to you!

    Second Claims!

And don't forget to check-in! This is a mandatory check-in for all authors and artists. That includes tandem! If your tandem author doesn't have at title for their story yet, you can just input "Tandem" instead.

Hello everyone! We're down to just 4 stories that need to be claimed! Now that a few days have passed and everyone has been given a chance to get their first claims in, artists that have already made one claim are now allowed to take additional stories based on what is left of the unclaimed stories. I have updated the claiming form with a section to let me know how many additional stories you want to take, such as "I want 1 extra story, I want 2 stories" etc.

If you only want one more story this is totally fine, just list N/A for the second and third choices. If there are a few stories you have your eyes on, list your choices, and then in the "Claiming a Second Story" section tell me how many of those stories you can take on, such at "I want 1 story" or "I want 2 stories", etc.

Once all of the stories are claimed, I will be sending out emails to artists and authors, and then second claims will open, letting artists take on additional stories. Each story can have up to 3 artists, so that authors aren't overwhelmed with coordinating with too many people. I can only guarantee that each story will get one piece of art for their stories!

    Hello everyone!

Claims have closed as have artist/fanworker sign-ups! We're in the final stretch here. October 1st is the mandatory check-in for authors and artists. What this means is that all Solo, Tandem, and Traditional track authors and/or artists will need to pick a posting date.

Posting dates will begin October 15th and run until November 18th. Each day will have 3 slots, once those slots fill up, I will not be making exceptions to add another author or author/artist group to that date. The last few days of the posting period (November 15th-18th) tend to fill up very fast! It's beneficial have your work done early, so that you have your pick of dates and don't need to hurry and scramble for one of the last few posting days.

I recommend getting ready to post by about October 15th, when posting begins. If you're not quite ready by then, this is okay, you can choose a later date, but it's a good idea to be ready, or almost ready, to post by the middle of October.

Solo track participants can drop out at anytime without consequences. Tandem track teams can drop out together as a team at any time without consequences. Traditional track authors and artists can face consequences for dropping out at this stage, but if you have an issue, please get in contact with me ASAP so we can work something out.

Since we are entering the homestretch, if you do not have a beta reader already, I've put together a resource post for that, which can be found right here. Other options for finding a beta reader are of course by using the DCU Bang Discord server where we have a channel already set up just for finding beta readers!

If you still have some writing left to do, consider starting or joining a writing sprint on the Discord server. We're going to be hosting a lot of sprints, and artists are even encouraged to join, to have some structured drawing/creating time with the group!

As always, if you ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in contact with me, either via the Page-A-Mod post, email, or messaging me on Discord.

Hello everyone! Second claims are now open!!!

If you want to create some kind of fanwork for one of these awesome stories, the post is right here: Second Story Claiming Post.

For second claims, artists can claim as many stories as they want, however, please do not take on more than you are reasonably certain you can finish to avoid leaving any authors or stories hanging! Each story can be claimed an additional 2 times for this round, with a total of 3 including the first round of claiming.

Remember, the LiveJournal post will not be unlocked! If you are wanting to make a claim through comments, you must visit the DreamWidth post! This is so I can keep things more organized and prevent confusion if stories are being claimed at the same time. Emailing me your claims is also an option, just send an email to dcubang@gmail.com with your top three picks and I will let you know which story you are successful on!

If you're an artist that needs to drop out right now and has not claimed a story, please let me know right away and I will get that taken care of for you! There are no consequences for dropping out before a story is claimed!

Second claims will close Saturday, September 1st 23:59 MDT, when all fanworker sign-ups will be closed.

Hello! Second claims are now open and artists are free to claim as many stories as they are reasonably sure they can finish! The previous claims post has been locked for new comments again, to keep things more organized.

Second claims are optional. Don’t want to claim a second story, or don’t feel like you’ll be able to create something for two stories? You don’t need to claim! I would much rather an artist focuses and creates something awesome for one story, than for an artist to be stressed out trying to create something for two stories. Know your limits and don’t overburden yourself!

Each story can be claimed and additional two times. That means there is a potential total of 3 artists per story, and a minimum of 1 artist per story. Second claims will close Saturday, September 1st 23:59 MDT, when all fanworker sign-ups will be closed.

    How to Make Multiple Claims:

  • Stories are claimed on a first come, first served basis.

  • Comment here or email dcubang@gmail.com with the number and title of all the stories you want to claim, and the total number of stories you can work on. If you are requesting 3 stories, but you can only work on one, I need to know this, so I don't assign you all three stories!
    Example:
6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait - 13 Untitled
Can work on 1 fic only.
    Example:
6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait
    Can work on both.

  • If you are claiming using OpenID, anonymous commenting, or using a friend to comment for you, please list the username that was used in the artist sign-up, so I can quickly get matching emails out to both the authors and artists quickly!
    Example:
    Username: LuciferxDamien
Story claims: 6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait - 13 Untitled
Can work on only 2 stories.

  • In the event your first choice, or choices are already claimed, I will go down your list and assign you your second and/or third choice. Please do not choose stories you're not sure you can create art for. It's not fair to the authors!

  • After you make a story claim, I will let you know which story number(s) and title(s) you were successful on, via either the comment you left on this post, or by replying to the email you sent. This could take a few hours, so please be patient!

  • If you are an artist that successfully claims a story and has not yet signed up, here is the post to do that! I need for all artists to sign up, so that I can get their email addresses to use for author/artist matching.

  • A matching email will go out to both the artist and the author containing each other’s contact information after a claim is successful. You should receive this email no later than 48 hours after I have confirmed the claim. If you don't get this match up email, please get in contact with me ASAP so that artists and authors can get to work quickly!

Every story is listed here is not guaranteed a second or third artist! I can only guarantee one artist per story.

Authors, please look this post over to make sure your summary and information is correct! If anything is missing or wrong, please PM or email me ASAP, so I can get it fixed right away!!! If you are on the DCU Bang Discord server, that is also an excellent way to get in contact with me quickly.

You will notice that all usernames have been removed. That is because this is a blind claiming. Please do not tell your artist friends who are participating which story number is yours; the idea of a blind claim is to create a collaborative atmosphere. If your artist friends know the premise of your story and claim it, that's fine! I don't want hurt feelings due to a story being claimed by someone else, however, as stories are claimed on a first come, first served basis. (If there is a particular artist you want to work with, consider switching to Tandem with them before claims open to avoid being disappointed.

However, if you are an artist that would be willing to take a last minute pinch and can create art fairly quickly (you would most likely only have a few days to finish the art piece, please keep this in mind), send me an email and I will keep you in mind!

Art and fanworks come in many different forms! Traditional art, digital art, manips, vids, and fanmixes (with cover art) are all great. After matching is done, talk with your artist and see what their skills are!

Artists, you must create at least one piece of art per story you claim. You are free and welcome to do more than one piece of art per story you claim, of course! Just make sure that you can finish art for all of the stories you claim, in the event you claim more than one story.

There are two different ways to claim a story. The first way is to leave a comment on this post, after claims open, and there are a few ways to do this: comment with a DreamWidth account, login with OpenID to comment, or have a friend with a DW account or use anonymous commenting and leave your username you signed up with and the story numbers and titles you are claiming. (If your username differs on your DW or OpenID account from the username you used to sign-up, please leave the username that was used to sign-up so I can get matching emails out quickly!)

The second way to claim a story is by emailing me at dcubang@gmail.com, and giving me the story numbers and titles you are claiming. I will do my best to match timestamps so that the first artist to claim a story gets it. If you are going to claim via email, do not send your claim choices until after the claiming period has been announced. Email claims that do not follow this rule and come before claiming begins will be disregarded.

(I will be away from a computer for most of the day on Saturday. This means that claiming confirmation might be slow, but I will do my best and have my phone on me to try and keep on top of things.)

During this preview period, artists have the chance to thoroughly look over all the summaries and decide which ones they would be able to create art for. Claiming is done on a first come, first served basis, so it's a good idea to take advantage of this preview window and take note of which stories you want to claim. This way, you won't need to scramble to read summaries and get your claims in, you'll already have an idea of what you want to work on! Try to determine at least 3 fics you can work on, so you can list your top 3 choices. If there are only 2 stories you would like to work on, this is fine as well, but do try to decide on more than one story to work on. If you are an artist that can claim multiple stories, you can make note of more than 3 stories to claim, once second claims open up. For first claims, only one story may be claimed per artist. When second claims open up on Sunday at around 3PM MDT, the amount of stories an artist can claim is unlimited, however, do not claim more than you are sure you can finish!

    How to Claim a Story:

  • Stories are claimed on a first come, first served basis. If you can, look over the comments to see if the story you want has already been claimed and then make different choices. (This is why it's handy to take a careful look during the preview period and choose several stories you'd be comfortable to work on!)

  • Comment here or email me with your top 3 choices, in the order that you want them, stating the number of the summary and the title.
    Example:
6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait - 13 Untitled

  • If you are claiming using OpenID, anonymous commenting, or using a friend to comment for you, please list the username that was used in the artist sign-up, so I can quickly get matching emails out to both the authors and artists quickly!
    Example:
    Username: LuciferxDamien
Story claims: 6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait - 13 Untitled

  • In the event your first choice is already claimed, I will go down your list and assign you your second or third choice. Please do not choose stories you're not sure you can create art for. It's not fair to the authors!

  • After you make a story claim, I will let you know which story number and title you were successful on, via either the comment you left on this post, or by replying to the email you sent.

I plan to start sending these emails out Sunday morning. You should receive this email no later than 48 hours after I have confirmed the claim. If you don't get this match up email, please get in contact with me ASAP so that artists and authors can get to work quickly!

  • Second claims will open Sunday, August 26th at about 3PM MDT. If all stories have been claimed by this time, I'll be eternally grateful to all you awesome people and open up all stories for second claiming. If there are still a few stories that need to be claimed, they must be claimed before stories will open up for a second artist claim.

Every story is listed here is guaranteed one artist only. If stories go up for second claims, they are not guaranteed for a second artist.

And now for the summaries! )

If you have any other questions or concerns, please get in contact with me at either the DCU Discord server, emailing me at dcubang@gmail.com, sending me a PM, or using the Page-A-Mod post!

When the time comes, Tim collects the young hero and they set out on a long journey to defeat the Joker.
Along the way, it is Jason's Fate to complete several tasks that will allow him to reach the Joker and provide him crucial items needed to kill him. He must use his strength to defeat the giant Bane, outwit the demigod known as the Riddler, and survive the Arkham Forest-home to Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. Tim falls into Ra's al Ghul's hands. Aboard Ra's's private plane he learns that Ra's has unleashed his newest virus and older diseases upon varying cities to cull the population and keep the heroes occupied so that they can't come after Tim until it's too late to change his fate.
