Hello everyone! Today is the last day for amnesty! I will be checking the collection periodically throughout the day to approve works, and will allow works to be added to the DCU Bang 2019 Ao3 Collection until tomorrow, to give everyone ample time to finish their stories! If you need additional help, please reach out to me, ASAP! I'm more than happy to help and work something out with you!

The Amnesty Period will end Sunday, November 10th, and the DCU Bang shall be officially closed November 11th. This is when the masterlists will go up and a feedback survey will be provided.

If you're working with an artist, make sure to coordinate a good posting date with them!

When your work is complete, submit it to the DCU Bang 2019 Ao3 Collection. This can be done by either going to the collection and clicking "Post to Collection", or by posting a work regularly and making sure that "dcu_bang_2019" (without the quotes) is in the "Post to Collections / Challenges" box, under "Associations". Do not submit an incomplete work! I will be revealing whatever works are in the queue daily, if you are not ready to post, do not submit yet! Works will be revealed no earlier than 5PM MDT, daily.

I cannot approve or reveal a work that is in draft form If you have a longer work with several chapters and want to take a few days to post it, unrevealed, this is fine, just save it as a draft, and then when you're ready, click post and I will reveal it that day!

Ao3 Bugs/Glitches: When posting chapters, there have been quite a few bugs the last few weeks causing some confusion and frustration. Some things to watch out for are chapters posting as their own individual story and chapters getting stuck as a draft and not posting fully. I'll do my best to watch out for these and inform authors before I reveal the work! If you get an email from me about this, don't be alarmed, I'm just reaching out to let you know there was some sort of error, so that you can fix it.

Remember: If you're a Tandem or Traditional artist or author and you do not submit your work before November 3rd, you're at risk of being banned. If you need help, please get in contact with me! If something major has come up, such as injury, illness, broken computer, family situation has changed, etc. that will prevent you from posting, please just let me know! I'm always willing to work things out with people that contact me.

Solo authors are still able to drop out at any time with no consequences, just let me know so I can update my records!

If you still haven’t claimed a date, please make sure to do so right here: Reveals Date Claiming Form

If you need to change your reveal date, please contact me ASAP! For example, if you selected October 5th and want to be moved to a later date, such at October 10th, please send me an email, dcubang@gmail.com, or a message on Discord and I can get that changed for you, no problem!

If you do not have an Ao3 already, please contact me ASAP!!! I have some invites, so if you need an account, please let me know so you can get one right away! Send a DM to LuciferxDamien on Discord, or an email dcubang@gmail.com.

Artists/fanworkers do not need to post to Ao3 this year, but all stories must be posted to Ao3. Artist/fanworkers can post on Ao3, LiveJournal, DreamWidth, Tumblr, Twitter, etc. so long as the fanwork is publicly viewable and is linked in the story somewhere, either via embedding, or a simple link in the Author Notes!

Ao3 Bugs/Glitches: Chances are, some of you might come across an AO3 bug or glitch while posting. There are some known issues with revealing works in a collection marked as unrevealed. Gift email notifications will most likely not go out, as well as emails to subscribers that you’ve posted a new work. There’s nothing I can do about this, it’s an Ao3 bug. At the end of the DCU Bang, the collection will be set to “Revealed” which might trigger all of the emails to go out then.

5th DCU Bang Check-in - Mandatory

Information on how posting will work will be available in September. Works are due October 1st-5th. Stories will begin revealing on October 5th! We’re almost there, everyone!

Now is a good time to get an Ao3 account and start familiarizing yourself with the site! I’ve got some invites, but I only want to hand those out closer to posting time. It can sometimes take more than 2 weeks to get an invitation, so the sooner you get in queue, the better!

Come drop by the Discord server for some sprints and encouragement, if you need a push! The server is also a great place to find a beta reader, should you want one. Beta readers are not mandatory this year, but highly advised!

Today is the last day of the grace period for Traditional authors and artists! If you feel you cannot continue as an author or an artist for DCU Bang 2019, today is the last day to drop out! Once I post the survey for the 4th mandatory check-in tomorrow morning, it will be too late to drop out without consequences!

Traditional authors can choose to drop one or both of their projects. Traditional artists can choose to drop one or more of their projects, or all of them.

I’ve been a little under the weather the last few days, which is why this is very late. Claims are now closed!

Please remember to check-in! There are still a lot of participants that haven’t checked in yet. This check-in is mandatory for everyone, including solo authors and tandem artists. If you are a tandem artist, you also need to check-in. If your author doesn’t have a title for their story yet, that’s fine, just put “tandem - (author’s username)” so that I can mark you as checked in! Hi everyone! It's that time again, check-in! This will largely work the same, with a Google Survey, now there is an artist option added in! Remember, this is a mandatory check-in, so please try to get to it when you can, it should only take a moment or two!

I'll be leaving the survey open for 2 weeks this time instead of one, since it was very soon after the first round of claims closed. This way, artists and authors have time to get in contact with each other and make a plan, hopefully without feeling too rushed!

I am opening second claims and they will run from Saturday, July 6th to Saturday, July 13th. This gives artists a chance to claim a story they missed out on that they were looking forward to, or if there are any more artists were thinking of joining up, now is the time! Each story can have a total of 3 artists working on it, so I will update the claimed listed periodically. I don't want authors to get overwhelmed coordinating with too many people! (The first claim counts as 1 artist, so each story can be claimed an additional 2 times during the second claiming period.) I can only guarantee one artist per story! Artists, please don't take on more than you are reasonably sure you can finish!

This is a chance for Traditional Path artists to get in contact with their authors and vice versa. This is a very important time for both artists and authors to consider if they can finish by October, and if either party determines they cannot finish on time, they have a chance to drop out without consequences, and will be welcomed back for DCU Bang 2020. Once it is August 1st, Traditional Path artists and authors cannot drop out without consequences. However, if a major life event happens after this, just get in contact with me, I don't want to punish anyone that has a major life event!

All stories have been claimed! Match up emails will be going out today, so be on the lookout for that! Second claims will be opening tonight, hopefully, if not, definitely tomorrow. Second claims will run until Saturday July 13th, 23:59 MDT. (I'll close the form Sunday morning on the 14th and make announcements then.)
