Happy holidays everyone! I apologize for my sporadic absences, things have been very hectic this year for me in RL.

Due to the holidays, I have not had the time or the energy to get things prepared for Amnesty Week. I will be extending the Amnesty Period until December 20th because of this! Amnesty reveals will take place during the week of December 13-20.

I will be reaching out to people that I have not yet heard from in the next few days, if you are someone that needs to contact me, please feel free to do so first!

Hello everyone! Reveals Begin today and I hope you’re as excited as I am!

Beginning tonight, authors and fanworkers will be emailed the night before or the morning of their reveal date, just to make sure they’re ready for their works to be revealed. If you are not ready to have your work revealed, you must contact me ASAP so we can set up a different reveal date! It’s no trouble at all if you need a different date, I just need to know!

Stories will be revealed daily, at about 5PM Mountain Time. Here is a time converter for you! On the "Converted Time" clock, select "Change your Location" and input your own information to see what time that is for you, daily. (The date, November 30th is irrelevant.)

Please make sure to check the 2020 Reveals Schedule to see when your works will reveal, if you’ve forgotten!

If you need to drop out, for any reason, please get in contact with me so that I can update things on my end! If you need some extra time, let’s talk and see if we can work something out! I can’t help if I don’t know there is a problem!

It is also a good idea to change the publication date on your work(s) on your reveal date, so that it shows up in the most recent listings! To do this, hit edit, go to the Associations box and scroll down to “Set a different publication date”, and then change to the current date and save, so that your work(s) show up on the first page of your fandom!

If you need to change your reveal date, please contact me ASAP! For example, if you selected November 5th and want to be moved to a later date, such November10th, please send me an email, dcubang@gmail.com, or a message on Discord and I can get that changed for you, no problem!

If you do not have an Ao3 already, please contact me ASAP!!! I have some invites, so if you need an account, please let me know so you can get one right away! Send a DM to LuciferxDamien on Discord, or an email to dcubang@gmail.com.

Artists/fanworkers do not need to post to Ao3 this year, but all stories must be posted to Ao3. Artist/fanworkers can post on Ao3, LiveJournal, DreamWidth, Tumblr, Twitter, etc. so long as the fanwork is publicly viewable and is linked in the story somewhere, either via embedding, or a simple link in the Author Notes!

Ao3 Bugs/Glitches: Chances are, some of you might come across an AO3 bug or glitch while posting. There are some known issues with revealing works in a collection marked as unrevealed. Gift email notifications may not go out, as well as emails to subscribers that you’ve posted a new work. There’s nothing I can do about this, it’s an Ao3 bug. At the end of the DCU Bang, the collection will be set to “Revealed” which might trigger all of the emails to go out then.

Hello everyone! I apologize for the lateness of this, real life hit very hard last month. The check-in and date claiming period will run from now through October 12th, to give everyone time to check-in and contact their groups to claim a reveal date!

This is our very last check-in for DCU Bang! That's right, we're nearing the end of DCU Bang 2020! I'm so excited to see what everyone has been working on, and I've been very impressed as well with all of the hardwork and dedication to your stories and/or art! Everyone, Solo author/artists, Traditional authors/artists, and Tandem authors/artists are required to fill out the form! The survey will remain open through October 12th to give everyone time to fill it out.

The most important thing when filling out the survey is make sure you use the same email address that was used in your sign-up, so that I can check you off. If you do not remember which email you used to sign-up, a copy of the Google Survey should have been sent to you when you signed up. If you still cannot find it, please contact me and I will check on my end!

This survey will be just like the last one and it is mandatory!!! The survey will remain open until Monday, October 12th. Missing two mandatory check-ins in a row will cause you to be dropped from the Bang, so make sure to get the survey done ASAP!

5th DCU Bang Check-in - Mandatory

If you have not been in contact with your author or artist for some time, please reach out and let your partner know how you're doing, because Date Claiming has begun as well! Information on how posting will work will be available in a few days, though you can check out 2019’s posting guidelines right now. Works are due October 25-31. Stories will begin revealing on November 1st. We’re almost there, everyone!

Now is a good time to get an Ao3 account and start familiarizing yourself with the site! I’ve got some invites, but I only want to hand those out closer to posting time. It can sometimes take more than 2 weeks to get an invitation, so the sooner you get in queue, the better!

Come drop by the Discord server for some sprints and encouragement, if you need a push! The server is also a great place to find a beta reader, should you want one. Beta readers are not mandatory this year, but highly advised!

Hello everyone! Here is the 3rd DCU Bang check-in! This check-in is NOT mandatory, but it's a good idea to take a look at the check-in survey, to see how the rest of the mandatory check-ins will be handled.

This check-in is non-mandatory for both authors and fanworkers! This is also the last day of the Grace Period, where Traditional participants can drop out, without consequences! If something has come up, or you feel you cannot continue your art or story, please contact me ASAP, either via email, dcubang@gmail.com, or on the Discord server!

The most important thing when filling out the survey is make sure you use the same email address that was used in your sign-up, so that I can check you off. Hello! Based on feedback, I’ve decided to open a third round of claims! For the third round, artists/fanworkers are free to claim as many stories as they are reasonably sure they can finish!

The third round of claims is optional. Don’t want to claim another story, or don’t feel like you’ll be able to create something for multiple stories? You don’t need to claim! I would much rather you focus on creating something awesome for one story, rather than being stressed out trying to create something for multiple stories. Know your limits and don’t overburden yourself!

Each story can be claimed an additional two times. That means there is a potential total of 3 artists per story, and a minimum of 1 artist per story. While unlikely, it would be pretty hectic and stressful for an author to have to coordinate with 16 artists on their story! That’s why there is a limit, and to encourage people to spread the art around to other stories. =D

Stories are guaranteed only one artist each. I cannot guarantee that every single story will get a second artist. Please be understanding of this!

The third round of claims will close Sunday, July 19th 23:59 MDT, when all fanworker sign-ups will be closed. (This is a slight extension compared to the schedule.)

How to Make Multiple Claims:

A matching email will go out to both the artist and the author containing each other’s contact information after a claim is successful. You should receive this email no later than 72 hours after I have confirmed the claim. Hello everyone! There are some really great stories up for claiming this year! =D The deadline has passed and no more rough drafts will be accepted, so here are the summary previews! The actual story claiming will begin on Saturday, July 11th at 12 Noon MDT. Everyone is welcome to spread the word and share this post, it’s a huge help!

Authors, please look this post over to make sure your summary and information is correct! If anything is missing or wrong, please message or email me ASAP, so I can get it fixed right away!!! If you are on the DCU Bang Discord server, that is also an excellent way to get in contact with me quickly. If you sent in your rough draft and do not see your summary here, please contact me so we can see what happened!

You will notice that all usernames have been removed. That is because this is a blind claiming. Please do not tell your fanworker/artist friends who are participating which story number is yours. If your friends know the premise of your story and claim it, that's fine, but I don't want hurt feelings due to a story being claimed by someone else. (If there is a particular person you want to work with, consider switching to Tandem with them before claims open to avoid being disappointed. Contact me ASAP so I can get that taken care of for you! There is also Tandem sign-up that is available at the beginning of the Bang, should you join again next year!)

Every story listed here is guaranteed at least one piece of art. In the event of a pinch hit artist being needed, I and 2bnallegory will take care of it. However, if you are a fanworker/artist that would be willing to take a last minute pinch and can create art fairly quickly (you would most likely only have a few days to finish the art piece, please keep this in mind), send me an email and I will keep you in mind!

Art and fanworks come in many different forms! Traditional art, digital art, manips, vids, and fanmixes (with cover art) are all accepted. After matching is done, talk with your artist and see what their skills are! Please check the FAQs for the quality of work that is expected for DCU Bang.

Fanworkers/artists, you must create at least one piece of art per story you claim. You are free and welcome to do more than one piece of art per story you claim, of course! Just make sure that you can finish art for all of the stories you claim, in the event you claim more than one story.

For the first round of claims, each fanworker/artist will be assigned one story from their 3-5 choices. When second claims open up on Monday at around 3PM MDT, the amount of stories fanworkers/artists can claim is unlimited, however, do not claim more than you are sure you can finish!

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well, and your writing and creating is coming along! These are the Rough Draft Submission Guidelines, and I will be accepting rough drafts between July 1st-July 8th, Wednesday-Wednesday. Please make sure to read everything!

Rough draft submission is only for the Traditional Author track. If you have chosen Solo Author or Tandem Author, do not submit a rough draft! This is only for the authors wishing to be paired with a fanworker, and are not already working with a fanworker. =D

If you signed up as an undecided author, now is the time to choose if you will continue as a Solo author, Traditional author, or if you have paired up with an already, Tandem author. I will only be sending emails out to those that signed up as undecided and have yet to let me know which path they've chosen, however, if you need to switch please get in contact with me, either on Discord or email dcubang@gmail.com. Now is also the time to switch down from the 10k Big Bang to the 5k Mini-Bang if you need to!
