Hey, would you like to affiliate our communities? That way Dc fans on dreamwidth can find them more quickly.

Oh and for promotion here on Dreamwidth a post in fandomcalendar would be a good idea. If you‘re already planning this, forget I said anything.

Hi. I think that I managed to do the author sign-up just in time (nothing like leaving things to the vary last minute ;) )
I just wanted to ask about the solo sign-ups. Do we need to have our stories 80% finished by 21st August too? Or can we take longer as we don't need to find an artist?

Hello!

Solo authors do not need to turn in a rough draft, so yes, you have longer! You will have until the end of the posting period to get your work finished, so lots of time still! (And in the case you find you cannot finish, there are no consequences of needing to drop out as a solo author. =D Consequences only arise if your work has been claimed and you do not finish, but your artist has. Basically, we don't want to leave artists, or authors, hanging if one party doesn't complete their work!)

What's the best way to switch to Solo Author? I'm probably not going to be able to make the deadline today, but I can't seem to spot anything saying what/if/where we need to confirm that (or do we just claim a date or whatever closer to, and you assume anyone doesn't check in is either switching or dropping out?) You've probably got a lot of emails to sort, so I didn't want to just shuffle a reply to the check-in email in among the rough drafts in your inbox...

Sorry if I overlooked something obvious somewhere on how to do this!

This works just fine for letting me know! You never have to worry about emailing me; I'm online all day and can take care of emails as they come in in fairly quickly. =D I do prefer that people let me know if they are switching or dropping out, just so I can keep things updated on my end and be able to better gauge how many artists I need!

I will be accepting rough drafts until August 22nd, 2PM MDT, so if you think you can get roughly 80%, or about 8k done by then and still want to work with an artist, let me know! Otherwise, I have you down as switching to Solo author. =D
