What is this community for?
A bigbang is a writing challenge that prompts authors and artists to work together to create a story and work of art that go together. In this case, our fandom is the DC Universe, and our goal is 10,000 words.
10k is a lot. How long do I have to come up with that?
Don't worry - you've got plenty of time. Signups will open up at the end of May, and rough drafts won't be due until September, with a complete beta-read version due in mid-October.
What about artists? How much time will we have?
More than a month. You'll pick a story after rough drafts are submitted, and your final product will be due when the completed story is due in mid-October.
Can I have some more specific dates, please?
Of course! There will be a timetable going up in May.
Why are participants the only people allowed to join the comm?
We keep the membership restricted to participants in order to have members-only posts tracking the progress of the fanworks being created. By keeping them restricted to the participants, we don't spoil the audience, and we allow the authors and artists to get support more privately. But don't worry! All the final fanworks as well as sign-up posts and news will be open to everyone, so watch the comm for those even if you aren't participating!
I still have questions! Where can I ask them?
There's a page-a-mod post here. Just leave a comment there and a mod will get back to you.
