(Story claiming via comments will only be available for the DreamWidth version of this summary post. The LiveJournal summary post will not be unlocked. It is purely for reference. There are instructions for claiming on DreamWidth or by email further down. Please read everything!)
Hello! Second claims are now open and artists are free to claim as many stories as they are reasonably sure they can finish! The previous claims post has been locked for new comments again, to keep things more organized.
Second claims are optional. Don’t want to claim a second story, or don’t feel like you’ll be able to create something for two stories? You don’t need to claim! I would much rather an artist focuses and creates something awesome for one story, than for an artist to be stressed out trying to create something for two stories. Know your limits and don’t overburden yourself!
Each story can be claimed and additional two times. That means there is a potential total of 3 artists per story, and a minimum of 1 artist per story. While unlikely, it would be pretty hectic and stressful for an author to have to coordinate with 16 artists on their story! That’s why there is a limit, and to encourage people to spread the art around to other stories. =D
Stories are guaranteed only one artist each. I cannot guarantee that every single story will get a second artist. Please be understanding of this!
Second claims will close Saturday, September 1st 23:59 MDT, when all fanworker sign-ups will be closed.
How to Make Multiple Claims:
Stories are claimed on a first come, first served basis.
Comment here or email dcubang@gmail.com with the number and title of all the stories you want to claim, and the total number of stories you can work on. If you are requesting 3 stories, but you can only work on one, I need to know this, so I don't assign you all three stories!
Example:
6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait - 13 Untitled
Can work on 1 fic only.
Example:
6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait
Can work on both.
If you are claiming using OpenID, anonymous commenting, or using a friend to comment for you, please list the username that was used in the artist sign-up, so I can quickly get matching emails out to both the authors and artists quickly!
Example:
Username: LuciferxDamien
Story claims: 6 The Smoke in Your Eyes - 9 To Lie and Wait - 13 Untitled
Can work on only 2 stories.
In the event your first choice, or choices are already claimed, I will go down your list and assign you your second and/or third choice. Please do not choose stories you're not sure you can create art for. It's not fair to the authors!
After you make a story claim, I will let you know which story number(s) and title(s) you were successful on, via either the comment you left on this post, or by replying to the email you sent. This could take a few hours, so please be patient!
If you are an artist that successfully claims a story and has not yet signed up, here is the post to do that! I need for all artists to sign up, so that I can get their email addresses to use for author/artist matching.
A matching email will go out to both the artist and the author containing each other’s contact information after a claim is successful. You should receive this email no later than 48 hours after I have confirmed the claim. If you don't get this match up email, please get in contact with me ASAP so that artists and authors can get to work quickly!
Every story is listed here is not guaranteed a second or third artist! I can only guarantee one artist per story.

Title: How I Lost My Job at Capes Quarterly
Word Count: estimated 13-15k; just over 10k done now
Genre: Humor, Smut, Slice of Life
Fandom/Universe: Comics Superman, Batman; set pre-52; roughly during Batman & The Outsiders era, but with much handwaving at timelines. Tim is Robin; Dick is Nightwing.
Characters/Pairings: OMC/Superman, OMC/Starfire
Warnings: None
Rating: NC-17
Summary: A journalist for a Capes Quarterly, a superhero magazine, discovers that Superman is considerably less chaste than he'd been led to believe. Since the magazine refuses to run any stories about Superman's sex life, he publishes his own books of tell-all stories based on the letters he's received - and then panics about Superman's reaction, until Superman pays him a visit and puts his fears to rest. (Let the power of gratuitous handjobs commence!)
He publishes more books. He gets more visits from heroes, including an intensely pleasurable visit from Starfire, and a terrifying one from Batman. Eventually, he goes into business selling true-encounter stories about people hooking up with superheroes.
While the story, and the on-screen smut, take place in the OMC's workplace and home, it refers to many events that occur elsewhere--Superman's encounters with various civilians, Superman's outfit being strategically torn, Batman's tryst in a Gotham alley with "a Bludhaven cop," and reports of other heroes' activities. It is very possible to illustrate this without any pictures of the original character; any of the scenes being published in the magazine could be used.

Summary: Loosely based on Crimson Peak (2015). Clark has been able to see ghosts since he was eight, just a few days before his Pa died in his sleep. Years later, after having moved to the city with Martha to pursue writing, Clark meets Bruce Wayne, who takes an interest in his work and Clark in particular. Title: The Spy Who Hated Me
Word Count: Around 130k, 110k written
Genre: Romantic-Comedy, Action, Drama
Fandom/Universe: DCU, Grayson-Inspired, Rival Spy/James Bond AU
Characters/Pairings: Dick Grayson/Tiger King of Kandahar; Roman Sionis
Warnings: Implied Forced Prostitution, Implied Noncon, Graphic Torture, Violence
Rating: Explicit (the majority of the fic is rated T)
Summary: Dick Grayson is an agent of the Justice League, an international peace-keeping organization that uses espionage and subterfuge to protect the world. Or, as Dick likes to call it, James Bonding. After taking care of a Georgian terrorist cell in Cairo, Dick encounters a very attractive and distinct man. In the end, however, arresting gun-toting criminals trumps getting a hottie's cell number. Bummer. That's until Dick starts seeing the same man everywhere he goes while investigating one of the world's most dangerous gangsters; Roman Sionis. Is this unknown man a trusted co-conspirator of Sionis or an ally hidden in not-so-plain sight? Dick, armed with only his sass and encyclopedic knowledge of Disney, has only a short time to find out.
This story visits numerous locations around the world from Cairo, Egypt, different cities in southern Russia, and Istanbul, Turkey.
Since Dick is working to take down a sex trafficking ring there will be a few references and interactions with forced sex work. Similarly, considering Roman Sionis will be the villain, there will be a few sections of graphic torture to both main characters. However, the main focus will always be on Dick and Tiger's relationship rather than torture or sex trafficking.

Title: Lost and Found
Word Count: 30k-ish
Genre: Drama, romance
Fandom/Universe: Wonder Woman (comics and movie), Marvel crossover (Captain America, Agent Carter), Supergirl (TV)
Characters/Pairings: Diana Prince/Kasia (Wonder Woman comics), Diana/Steve Trevor, Diana/OMC, Diana/Peggy Carter (Marvel), Diana/Kara Danvers
Warnings: Character deaths mentioned but not “shown”
Rating: PG-13
Summary: This story takes a tour through Diana’s (love) life. There are five people who have played particularly important roles over the course of Diana’s long life. Growing up, there’s Kasia—her best friend and first love. Steve Trevor introduces her to Man’s World, and although she doesn’t know him for very long, he is the one to first show her all that humanity can be. With Nikkos, Diana learns what it’s like to live a “normal” life in peacetime. But that peace can’t last forever, and it’s Peggy Carter who provides some light during the darkness of WWII. Finally, Diana meets Kara Zor-El, and these two powerful women—both exiles, stranded from their home worlds—find that there’s so much they can offer each other, if only they allow themselves to open up.
The story is set in multiple different locations and time periods: Themyscira, Belgium during WWI, Greece in the 1930s, Europe during WWII, and the U.S. in the near-future.
In terms of warnings, the only thing I can think of is that this story deals with the aftermath of the canonical death of Steve Trevor and the non-canonical deaths of two main characters from the Supergirl TV show. These deaths are mentioned, but not “shown.”

Title: (I'm yours) 'till the earth starts to crumble and the heavens roll away
Word Count: 12.1k of 14.5k
Genre: action, romance, AU - Sentinel/Guide
Fandom/Universe: DC Cinematic Universe, Pre-MOS, Post-BVS, JL, Post-JL
Characters/Pairings: Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, Diana Prince, Arthur Curry, Barry Allen, Victor Stone / Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne
Warnings: Canon major character death
Rating: PG/Teen
Summary: In a world of heightened senses and enhanced strength where Sentinels and Guides roam the earth with their own unique subculture, Clark has always considered himself to be normal — not a Sentinel, not a Guide; just Clark Kent, son of Martha and Jonathan Kent, aspiring journalist. And in a town like Smallville, who values their Sentinels and Guides like they value their field and crops, Clark finds himself surrounded by friends and peers who one by one presents and leaves for the Tower — the place for the elite, the place for the promising ones. Until Clark turned out to be more than that and the world is introduced to Superman.
This story is set in the same world as the DCEU (Kansas, Metropolis, Gotham), but with additions like the Tower — where Sentinels and Guides are trained. The same events still occur, with the fic using these events to allude to the past, present, and possible future of Clark and Bruce working through their relationship (mainly Bruce working through the fact that he’s the guide to the most powerful sentinel on the planet, and maybe the universe too).
Has potential for angst, major character death is for Supes dying. Somewhat heavy detective work/observations/introspection from Bruce. Introduces Billy Batson as a potential member of JL.

Title: My Mistake to Make all Night
Word Count: 7.4k
Genre: Romance/AU
Fandom/Universe: DCU, Viking AU
Characters/Pairings: JayRoy (Jason Todd/Roy Harper), Dick Grayson
Warnings: N/A
Rating: PG-13/T
Summary: Jason is the second son of his village's lord, and this is the first raid of any distance that he's gone on. It goes well, led by his more veteran brother, Dick, but a threatening storm forces them to delay the trip home, putting in at an allied, closer village instead.
They're welcomed, and Jason seeks out the local blacksmith to get some of his armor repaired, which is where he runs into the problem of their unplanned visit. Roy, the blacksmith, is just about everything he finds attractive, but the chances that it's mutual are far too low to risk offending him, and by extension the lord of the village. All of which would be easier if Jason could manage to string together more than two or three words at a time around him.
Also, there's the small matter of Roy having a young daughter named Lian. Clearly, men aren't the gender that he's interested in. Obviously.

Word Count: about 16.5k words, estimated 20k upon completion
Genre: Suspense, Drama
Fandom/Universe: DC comics with a Red Robin focus
Characters/Pairings: Jason Todd, Tim Drake (gen)
Warnings: graphic descriptions of violence, mentioned dub con
Rating: NC-17 (due to violence)
Summary: Gotham has always had more than enough bad blood to go around. Between the gangs, the vigilantes, and the freaks haunting the city’s streets, it’s just a fact of life for Jason and anyone else caught in this hellhole. It isn’t the sort of thing that you fix. But what do you do when someone can’t leave well enough alone? When the Replacement, someone who Jason has two lifetimes worth of bad blood with, keeps showing up and saving his damn life? Jason gets the feeling that if he knew the answer to that question, he’d be a lot saner.
This story is set entirely in Gotham, primarily in warehouses, abandoned industrial areas, safe houses, etc. The graphic descriptions of violence are frequent and involve stabbing, shooting, a poisoning, minor character death, and a multitude of broken limbs. The dub con is Ra'sTim but is only mentioned/implied.

Obviously.
Title: This City's Built on Salted Earth
